Once water has boiled, pour in the mostacioli noodles. Bring noodles to a simmer for about ten minutes or until noodles are soft and tender.&lt;br /&gt;While the noodles are simmering, add the olive oil then prepare the broccoli in a separate pot.&lt;br /&gt;Heat both the noodles and broccoli on medium high. When both are done, drain the noodles along with all of the olive oil that was added to the water (the oil was just to give it flavor).&lt;br /&gt;Remove from burner and mix the broccoli and mostacioli in the pot. Add the garlic, ginger and butter to the mixture.&lt;br /&gt;Return pot to stove and heat over low heat for about five minutes. Set aside to drain.&lt;br /&gt;In a skillet, saute bacon or ham until crispy; drain on paper towels and set aside.&lt;br /&gt;Add enough bacon drippings into soup pan to coat bottom of pan.&lt;br /&gt;Simmer onions until clear in soup pan.&lt;br /&gt;Whisk in 1/4 cup flour and 4 cups milk. Sauté onion and garlic, until onions are tender. Set aside to cool.&lt;br /&gt;Steam the frozen broccoli until thawed, then drain well. Let cool.&lt;br /&gt;Cook wild rice according to directions. (Use any type of rice desired; wild rice is exceptionally good in this recipe).&lt;br /&gt;It is important to allow the warm ingredients to cool before mixing everything together so the cheese doesn't melt too soon.&lt;br /&gt;When sufficiently cool, reserve 1/2 cup of the cheese and mix remaining ingredients together. Put in a oven-proof baking dish or casserole dish (or 2 if needed).&lt;br /&gt;Spread reserved 1/2 cup of cheese on top. Add egg yolks, beating vigorously with a wooden spoon. Whip egg whites until stiff, moist peaks form; carefully fold egg whites into sauce. Pour mixture into prepared souffle dish. If desired, top with about 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds. Bake uncovered at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Leave tops whole (the purple part) and slice the white portion into rings. (Or purchase pre-cleaned squid at the fish market).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In a skillet, saute squid over high heat for 5 minutes in olive oil.&lt;br /&gt;Add garlic (and shallot if using), broccoli crowns and red pepper flakes. Stir in basil and oregano. Add additional olive oil to coat all if required. Saute 5 minutes over medium heat and then reduce heat and cover for 5 more minutes. Broccoli should remain a bright green, with tinges of browning, but should never become an olive green (if it becomes olive green then the broccoli has been overcooked).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Chop black olives if you're using oil cured olives, or if you have ripe canned and pitted olives, slice into rings and add to pan. Add washed endive tops and the center (heart) of the head. Leave the&lt;br /&gt;heavy bottom stalks of the endive for soup.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Add balsamic vinegar, True Lemon or lemon juice (if using). Saute 2-3 minutes more or until broccoli can be pierced with a fork (try one - it should still have a very slight crunch to it) and the endive is just wilted.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This can be prepared without the balsamic vinegar or the lemon, but finishing with the these two ingredients adds a uniquely Sicilian style tanginess that really makes the dish authentic. Slice directly through the "trunk," including a small section with each piece.&lt;br /&gt;Steam broccoli in a steamer or by placing in a large covered skillet with a small amount of water.&lt;br /&gt;Cook broccoli only until it attains a bright green color, then remove from heat. Broccoli will still be firm and may appear not to be completely cooked. Melt butter in saucepan; sauté mushrooms until tender. Stir in flour until smooth and bubbly. Stir in salt and mustard. Gradually add chicken broth, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add cheese, stirring until melted. Pour sauce over hot cooked, well-drained broccoli. Cover with frozen veggies and cream of broccoli soup. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cook on LOW 6 to 8 hours or HIGH 3 to 4 hours. (Boneless chicken breasts might be dry if cooked too long.) Add milk about 45 minutes before done, or 30 minutes if cooking on high. Serve poured over rice!!! In food processor with steel blade, combine broccoli, basil, butter and cream. Pulse to purée. Add Parmesan cheese and pulse to blend. Mix broccoli mixture into drained pasta; stir. Cook, stirring, over medium-low heat. Add salt and pepper.
